Man arrested on suspicion of rape in Bournemouth

A man has been arrested in connection with a reported rape in Bournemouth.

At 4.04am on Friday (11 August) Dorset Police received a report that a woman had been raped by a man in Horseshoe Common.

An investigation has been underway and on Saturday, a CCTV appeal was issued of a man officers wished to speak to.

Detective Inspector Nicky Jenkins, of Bournemouth CID, said: “Following enquiries, a 30-year-old local man has been arrested on suspicion of rape. We have updated the victim with this development and she continues to be supported by officers.”
