Man arrested after stolen woodchipper found in Poole

Police traced the piece of machinery to Canford Heath

A man's been arrested after Dorset Police located a stolen woodchipper in Poole.

The equipment is believed to have been stolen in an incident on Vicarage Road at around 10.10pm on Wednesday last week (11th January).

Officers traced the woodchipper to Yarrow Close in the Canford Heath area and located it there.

A 40 year old man from Poole was arrested on suspicion of theft.

He's been released on bail while enquiries continue.

PC Matt Cave, of Dorset Police, said:

“An investigation is underway and I am appealing to anyone who saw or heard any suspicious activity around the relevant time to please get in touch.

“I would urge motorists and residents in the vicinity to please check their dashcam and home CCTV systems for any footage that may help our enquiries.”
