Man arrested after stabbing in Christchurch

A man in his 30's was found seriously injured in Fairmile Road

Police investigating a stabbing in Christchurch have made an arrest.

Dorset Police received a report at 4.51pm on Thursday (8 December) that a man had sustained a suspected stab wound following an altercation in Fairmile Road.

The man, aged in his 30s, was taken to hospital for treatment to serious injuries.

He has since left hospital.

A spokesman for Dorset Police said:

"Following extensive enquiries by detectives from Bournemouth CID, a 29-year-old man from Bournemouth was arrested on suspicion of inflicting grievous bodily harm with intent, possessing an offensive weapon in a public place and robbery.

"He has been released on police bail as detectives carry out further enquiries."
