Police in Poole are investigating reports of a man pretending to be a police officer or special constable.

A white Vauxhall Combo van with blue flashing lights stopped a driver in Springdale Road in Broadstone at around 10.30pm on Saturday night (20th May).

The vehicle that was stopped later carried on with its journey.

A man in his 50s has been arrested on suspicion of impersonating a police officer and since been bailed pending further enquiries.

“We are continuing to investigate this incident and I am keen to trace the motorist who was reportedly stopped in the area of Springdale Road on the evening of Saturday 20 May 2023 so we can take their account of what happened.
