Man in his 70s dies following Bournemouth collison

A man in his 70s, who suffered serious injuries after being hit by a car in Bournemouth, has died in hospital.

It happened yesterday morning (Wednesday 1st May) just after 8.00am on Ashley Road in Boscombe.

The collision involved a grey Vauxhall Mokka, near the junction with Windham Road.

The pedestrian passed away in hospital this afternoon (Thursday 2nd May), and his family's been informed.

A woman in her 30s arrested on suspicion of driving offences has been released under investigation.

Sergeant Mark Scammell, of the Serious Collision Investigation Team, said:

"Our thoughts are very much with the family and loved ones of the man who sadly died following this collision.

“We owe it to them to conduct a thorough investigation to establish the full circumstances of this incident and I would urge any witnesses, or anyone with relevant dashcam footage, who has not already spoken to police to please make contact with us.”
