There was also an award for Dorset business Sunseeker, for the 'On-Call Employer of the Year'.

They've been recognised for their 'outstanding continued support' for on-call firefighters who serve at Hamworthy, Poole and Portland fire stations.

Chief Fire Officer Ben Ansell said:

“The awards ceremony is a wonderful way to bring people together and celebrate the depth and breadth of work being delivered by all parts of our Service. This is not just across our prevention, protection, emergency response and corporate functions, but also in all parts of our Service area.

“As well as recognising the achievements of our staff, it is always an opportunity to give personal thanks to the families and friends who have supported them and the work of our Service. It is often this support that has enabled the quite outstanding achievements to take place.”
