A new “inclusive” cycling initiative is on offer in Weymouth.

Dorset Council has partnered with Wheels 4 All to teach those with accessibility needs how to ride a bike.

The courses will also be open to people living in Weymouth who may just want to “build up their confidence” on a bicycle.

It’s hoped the sessions will help increase people’s fitness levels and improve the mental wellbeing of residents in Weymouth.

This initiative is being funded by Dorset Council, Weymouth Town Council, The Nature, Art and Wellbeing Community Fund and Public Health Dorset.

The council are currently looking for volunteers “to give a couple of hours a week” to help launch the scheme.

The volunteers are needed to help get bicycles ready for participants.

The council believe it’s an ideal opportunity for anyone with a keen interest in cycling as they can try a range of bikes ranging from trikes to side-by-sides.
