As we see the sunshine arrive again in Wiltshire and Hampshire, it comes with a heat health alert.

It's been issued by the UK Health Security Agency for the whole of the South of England.

It's in place through until 9.00am on Saturday morning (19th August).

The alert explains what we can expect:

"Minor impacts are probable across the health and social care sector, including: increased use of healthcare services by the vulnerable population; increase in risk of mortality amongst vulnerable individuals and increased potential for indoor environments to become very warm."

Temperatures are expected to reach the mid 20s, with some thundery showers possible, especially on tomorrow (Friday 18th August).

There's actually a yellow weather warning in place for thunderstorms in Dorset from 6.00am until 12.00pm.

The Met Office says some areas may see up to 40 millimetres of rain in less than 2 hours.

Similar conditions are forecast into next week too.
