Four people seriously injured after crash near Sherborne

Four people have been seriously injured after a collision near Sherborne.

Dorset Police received a report at 10.10am yesterday morning (Wednesday 5 April) of a collision involving a silver Honda CR-V and a silver Mercedes C220 on the A3030 at Hawkins Hill in Caundle Marsh.

The driver of the Honda – a woman aged in her 30s – and a passenger sustained serious injuries and were taken to hospital for treatment. A second passenger did not sustain any serious injuries and was taken to hospital as a precaution.

The female driver of the Mercedes, aged in her 70s, and a female passenger in the vehicle were taken to hospital for treatment to serious injuries.

Police Constable Daniel Yates, of the traffic unit, said: “An investigation is underway to establish the full circumstances of the incident and I would ask any witnesses who have not already spoken to police to please come forward.

“I am also keen to hear from any motorists who may have captured the collision, or the moments leading up to it, on dashcam footage.

“Finally, I would like to thank the public for their patience and understanding while the road closures were in place, which allowed us to safely deal with the incident.”
