Dorset has been announced as the new location for 5-day festival We Out Here.

St Giles Park in Wimborne will host the festival next summer, after the organisers decided to make a move from their original site in Cambridgeshire.

The dates have been confirmed as August 10th–14th.

Festival organisers have encouraged local businesses, charities and aspiring festival managers to get in touch as they are keen to collaborate.

One of the festival organisers Jo Barnett told us here at Greatest Hits Radio: "St Giles Park is an amazing site and the owner Nick Shaftsbury has a long history in music himself and has some fantastic shared values that connected with us when we viewed the site.

"I'm really hopeful that we can work with the local environment and draw on local suppliers and contractors.

"We want to get as many people locally to the show because as much as festivals are a scary thing, if people can come down and get welcomed into our community, they will really see the joy of it."

The festival is also running a social enterprise scheme where 1,000 tickets will be given out to those from lower socio-economic backgrounds that may not have been able to access the festival.

Jo says this is important to him because he wants "our audience to reflect the music and musical culture which we have and celebrate on stage."
