Family Hubs roll out to six locations in Dorset

The Council aims to open more later this year

Dorset Council's increased its number of Family Hubs in the county to six - with more to follow later this year.

They're up and running in Bridport, Dorchester, Ferndown, Swanage, Wareham and Wimborne, provide families with support for social, emotional, physical and financial needs.

Dorset Family Hubs will offer a range of support for the local community from maternity services, activities for children aged 0-5, advice for parents and much more.

Cllr Clare Sutton, Dorset Council Cabinet Member for Children Services, Education and Skills said:

“We want all our families to feel a strong sense of belonging within their community and Family Hubs offer this across Dorset. They are places where every family member feels welcomed, valued and listened to without judgement.

“The summer launch will a great opportunity to come along, find out more and have lots of fun, so please do get involved.”

Alongside these sites, and Online Family Hub is also being set up, providing 24/7 convenient access to a variety of resources.
