Dorset Police are looking to trace the victims of a possible cooking oil theft in Christchurch.

Officers stopped a Ford Transit van on Barrack Road at around 2.30am on Tuesday (11th April).

They found nine large drums containing oil and four smaller ones, during a search of the vehicle.

Two men - aged 50 and 51 and both from London - have been arrested on suspicion of theft and going equipped to steal.

They've been released under investigation while enquiries continue.

PC Lexie Holgate, of Dorset Police, said:

“We are making a number of enquiries to establish where the oil has come from.

“I am appealing for anyone who believes they have been a victim of cooking oil theft or anyone with relevant information to please come forward.”
