A Dorset man caught driving at more than 120mph on the A303 in Wiltshire has been banned from driving.

Benjamin Vincent, 22, of Shorton near Blandford, was caught driving at 124mph on the road in March 2023.

Police were carrying out speed checks on the A303, when they recorded a BMW massively exceeding the 70mph speed limit.

The vehicle was stopped and Vincent was reported to court.

He admitted speeding when he appeared at Salisbury Magistrates court on Thursday (7th March).

He was handed a 42-day driving ban and ordered to pay over £1,200 in fines, a victim surcharge and costs.

PC Paul Davis of the Roads Policing Unit said:

“This was incredibly reckless behaviour which could have caused a fatal collision on our roads.

“I hope Vincent spends his disqualification period re-evaluating his behaviour and the potential consequences of such poor driving.”
