A cyclist has suffered serious injuries after being involved in a collision with a car in Bournemouth.

It happened at around 9.00pm on Thursday (22nd June) at the Lansdowne roundabout, near the Bath Road junction.

A silver Vauxhall Astra was involved.

The road has to be closed for over three hours to allow emergency services to work at the scene.

Sergeant Mike Gatfield, of the traffic unit, said:

“We are investigating the full circumstances of this collision and I am keen to hear from anyone who witnessed the incident or who may have captured any relevant dashcam footage.

“I am particularly keen to speak to the occupants of a dark-coloured Peugeot 307 that was seen in the area around the time of the collision as they may have information to assist our investigation.

“Finally, I would like to thank members of the public for their patience and understanding during the road closures, which were necessary to allow the emergency services to respond to the incident and for enquiries at the scene to be carried out.”
