Criminal damage caused to cars at Chickerell Steam Show

Eight vehicles were damaged at the event

Eight vehicles have suffered criminal damage at a Weymouth event, with one man arrested.

The incidents were all reported against cars parked at the Chickerell Steam and Vintage Show at Knights in the Bottom on Saturday (1st July).

The damage included windscreen wipers ripped off, and one windscreen itself broken.

A 31 year old man from Weymouth has been arrested on suspicion of criminal damage and released under investigation.

Investigations Officer Amy Davis, of Dorset Police, said:

“We are continuing to investigate these incidents and I would urge anyone who saw what happened to please contact us.

“I would also like to hear from anybody who may have captured any relevant dashcam or mobile phone footage.”
