Firefighters tackle house fire in Piddletrenthide
It started in a wood store
Firefighters from Dorset and Somerset have been tackling a house fire in Piddletrenthide.
Crews from Dorchester and Sturminster Newton Fire Station were called out just before 2pm yesterday afternoon.
A water carrier which came from Yeovil Fire Station was requested, due to very limited water sources in the area.
The fire started in a wood store and then spread to the property.
A spokesperson for Dorchester Fire Station said:
"Once in attendance the crews were faced with a well developed fire which was getting into the roof of the property.
"An assistance message was sent for make pumps four, which came from Bridport Fire Station and Sherborne Fire Station.
"Crews used six breathing apparatus, multiple hose reel jets, small tools and ladders to extinguish the fire."
There are no repots of anyone being injured and no information has been released yet on how the fire started.
