CCTV: Handbag snatched from elderly woman in Bournemouth

The victim's bank card was later used fraudulently

CCTV images have been released by police in Bournemouth - as they investigate the theft of a handbag from an elderly woman.

The victim was walking along Stewart Road at around 2.30pm on Wednesday 25th October, when her bag was taken.

It contained a black iPhone and a bank card, which was fraudulently used in the Londis store nearby, and the Premier Store in Bennett Road.

Sergeant Hayley Lyne, of Bournemouth police, said:

“This incident has caused a great deal of distress to the victim and an investigation is underway to try and recover their property.

“As part of my enquiries, I have obtained CCTV images of a man believed to be using the stolen bank card and I would ask anyone with information about his identity to please come forward.”
