A handbag and its contents have been stolen from a car in Poole - with police sharing a CCTV picture of a man they'd like to trace.

The theft happened in Herbert Avenue at around 9.55am on Saturday 2nd September.

A man leaned through an open window to take the items.

An iPhone, camera, cash, glasses and a bus pass were all inside the bag, along with a bank card, which was later used in various locations.

Police Crime Support Investigator Adam Cleaver, of Poole police, said:

“This incident has caused a lot of distress for the victim due to the sentimental value of some of the items taken.

“After making enquiries, I have now obtained CCTV images of a man I would like to identify. I would ask anyone who recognises him to please contact Dorset Police.”

If you can help with any information, you're asked to call Dorset Police on 101, quoting reference number 55230139229.

You can also contact Crimestoppers, if you'd rather leave details anonymously, by calling 0800 555 111.
