Jhoots on Salisbury Road was broken into over the weekend

Cash and medication have been stolen from a pharmacy in Shaftesbury during a burglary.

The Jhoots branch on Salisbury Road was broken into at some point between 8.00pm on Friday (5th July) and 8.20am yesterday (Monday 8th July).

There's now an appeal for witnesses that might have seen anything untoward.

PC Ed Lewis, of North Dorset police, said:

“We are carrying out enquiries into this burglary and I would ask anyone who witnessed any suspicious activity in the area over the weekend, or who has any further information that might assist our investigation, to please contact us.

“I would also like to take this opportunity to strongly advise members of the public not to purchase any medication being offered for sale in suspicious circumstances and to report it to police.”
