Car ends up on roof in ditch in Winterbourne Abbas after driver blacks out
A woman who was trapped was able to escape through the boot
A car has ended up on its roof in a ditch in Winterborne Abbas.
Firefighters from Dorchester were called out to the A35 yesterday afternoon (27 October).
A woman who was trapped was freed through the car's boot.
Dorset Police say they don't believe she was seriously injured.
A spokesperson for Dorchester Fire Station Station said:
"It is believed the driver blacked out before coming off the road and into the ditch. The female occupant was helped out via tunnelling from the boot and handed over the waiting paramedics."
A Dorset Police spokesperson told us:
"We received a report at 3.14pm o of a single vehicle collision on the A35 at Winterbourne Abbas. Officers attended, along with the fire and ambulance services. Road closures were put in place.
"There were no reports of any serious injuries. Officers left the scene at around 4.20pm."
