Around 300 cannabis plants, and cultivation equipment, have been found and seized near Bridport.

A search was carried out at an address in Bothenhampton last Thursday morning (26th September).

That followed information received by local neighbourhood policing teams.

Two men have been arrested:

  • A 17-year-old man from Liverpool on suspicion of cultivating a controlled class B drug - he's been released under investigation
  • A 21-year-old man of no fixed abode on suspicion of the same offence - he's been released on police bail while enquiries continue

An investigation is ongoing into the incident, led by Dorset County CID.

PC Paul Miners, of Bridport police, said:

“We responded to information received, which resulted in us discovering a suspected cannabis factory.

“We will continue to do all we can to tackle the suspected supply of illegal drugs in our communities as we recognise the impact drug-related activity has on residents and visitors.”
