Body found in search for missing man in Weymouth

Dorset Police have informed the family of 40 year old John Manley

Police searching for a missing man in Weymouth say they've found a body.

It was discovered in the Nottington area at around 1.45pm today (Tuesday 11th July).

The family of 40 year old John Manley have been informed and are being supported by officers, although formal ID has yet to take place.

His car was found abandoned nearby in the early hours of yesterday morning (Monday 10th July).

The death isn't being treated as suspicious.

Chief Inspector Chris Wood, of Dorset Police, said:

“Our thoughts are with the family of John at this extremely difficult time, and we are doing all we can to support them.

“I would like to thank everyone who assisted in our search efforts to find John, including volunteers from Dorset Search and Rescue (DorSAR).”
