Bird Flu cases confirmed at premises in West Dorset
A 3km Captive Bird Monitoring Controlled Zone is now in place
An outbreak of bird flu has been confirmed in Dorset.
Officials say the Highly pathogenic avian influenza H5N1 has been discovered at a premises near Dorchester keeping captive birds.
A 3km Captive Bird Monitoring Controlled zone has now been put in place.
A spokesperson for the Animal & Plant Health Agency said:
"All bird keepers should remain vigilant and follow stringent biosecurity measures to prevent future outbreaks."
