Appeal to trace missing man from Poole

There's an appeal to trace a man who's gone missing in Poole, and hasn't been seen for a week.

57 year old Richard Smith was last seen on Wednesday last week (28th February) in Julyan Avenue in Wallisdown.

He was reported as missing to Dorset Police yesterday morning (Tuesday 5th March).

Richard's described as:

  • Five feet 11 inches tall
  • Very short hair
  • Wears glasses

Chief Inspector Matt Buller, of Dorset Police, said:

“We understand Richard may have been upset recently and we are concerned for his welfare.

“Searches are being carried out in the nearby area, assisted by DorSAR (Dorset Search and Rescue), in a bid to locate him.

“I would ask anyone who has seen or heard from Richard since Wednesday 28 February 2024 to please get in touch.

“Also, I am appealing to residents in the surrounding areas in Wallisdown to please check their home CCTV or doorbell camera footage since the date Richard was last seen for any possible sightings.

“Finally, if you see this appeal Richard – please get in touch with us or your family as we all want to ensure you are safe and well.”
