70 guests evacuated from holiday park in West Dorset due to flooding
Firefighters were called to Freshwater Beach Holiday Park at Burton Bradstock yesterday
Firefighters evacuated 70 people from 198 caravans at Freshwater Beach Holiday Park in Burton Bradstock, near Bridport yesterday, with some being taken to dry land by boat.
Rescue teams along with the coastguard and the police were involved in the major operation.
Storm Ciaran caused major flooding at the holiday park.
A spokesperson for Bridport Fire Station said:
"Water rescue teams from Bridport Fire Station along with tech rescue from Weymouth Fire Station, West Bay Coastguard Rescue Team and Dorset Police searched and evacuated multiple people to safety and ensured gas supplies to all caravans were isolated."
