Warning about fake NHS text vaccine scam

It asks for payment and bank details

We are being warned of a vaccine scam doing the rounds with a bogus NHS text telling people they are eligible for the Covid-19 jab.

Devon and Cornwall Police have shared the alert.

On its website, the consumer watchdog says the message includes a link to a fake NHS site.

Which? says it looks very convincing - and ask for your personal details, including bank and card details - with the excuse that the information is needed to 'check your identity.'

Trading Standards has stressed people WILL NOT be asked for to pay when they are contacted for their coronavirus vaccination - nor will they be asked for bank details.

They are asking people to report all scams to Trading Standards via Citizens Advice Consumer Service on 0808 223 1133.
