Prince Charles and the Duchess of Cornwall today met charity volunteers, civic leaders and members of the coastguard on the final day of their tour of the West Country.

The Royals arrived to cheers from the assembled crowd at Torquay's Torre Abbey, where they marked 200 years of the coastguard - seeing some of the rescue equipment teams use.

They also learned about projects such as The Wild Planet Trust's seagrass scheme and The Purple Angel Dementia campaign, started by local man Norms McNamara.

The Royals also visited the village of Cockington, after two days of visits across Cornwall.
