Two people are in hospital with serious injuries after a serious crash near Bideford.
It happened yesterday evening at around 7.50pm on the A386 outside Little Dene.
Police say a black BMW had collided with trees and rejoined the main carriageway - before bursting into flames.
Officers say both the people in the car had got out before it set on fire.
The pair were taken to North Devon district hospital but one of the injured was transferred to Derriford Hospital with a serious head injury.
Police are appealing for witnesses and dash-cam footage.
