Trapped man freed from vehicle after South Devon collision

He was rescued by firefighters from the scene near Ivybridge

A man trapped in a vehicle following a collision in south Devon has been freed by firefighters.

Crews from Ivybridge and Ashburton were called to the scene at Ugborough just before 8pm on Wednesday October 27.

The man was taken to hospital by paramedics.

"Two fire appliances attended an RTC involving 2 vehicles where one male was trapped. Crews arrived on scene and prepared to extricate the casualty whilst administering casualty care, with small tools and lighting in use. Ambulance and Police arrived on scene.

"Crews got to work with stabilisation, small tools and hydraulic cutting gear to extricate the casualty, working with the paramedics.

"Crews also made the vehicle safe. One male casualty was taken to hospital by Ambulance, and scene was handed to the Police."
