A local primary school has had to partially close because of water supply issues in parts of Totnes.

Stoke Gabriel Community Primary School and Pre-School said on Facebook: "Partial school closure.

"We’re sorry to say that the school does not have a water supply due to a village wide issue.

"This means that preschool and Key Stage 2 (Year3-6) classes will not be open today.

"Reception, Year 1 and 2 will still be able to go to their trip as planned. Emails and texts to follow."

In a statement, South West Water said: "Due to a burst main on our network, some customers in the Totnes, TQ9 6 area may experience lower water pressure than usual or a loss of supply while we undertake emergency repairs.

"Supplies should be restored in the next 3-4 hours.2
