"Two fire appliances from Torquay were sent to reports of a fire in a bedroom of a domestic property. Crews arrived quickly and confirmed smoke issuing, requesting two further appliances which were sent from Paignton and Newton Abbot.

"Shortly after, another request was made for a fifth appliance along with an aerial ladder platform, sent from Paignton and Torquay respectively. The incident command unit from Totnes was also sent.

"At 2300 hrs, crews confirmed the fire to be located in a bedroom of the property, a building 10m by 15m. Crews began stripping away the roof facias and gutter to gain access to the fire using the aerial ladder, small tools, and a triple extension ladder. Breathing apparatus was reduced to 2.
