Torquay Christmas Carnival has been cancelled, with organisers calling it a 'heart breaking' decision.

They only had one entry from Torbay for this year, with a further two from Ipplepen and Sidvale, and say they're £7,000 short on sponsporship.

A spokesperson confirmed: "It's with sadness we announce that Torquay Christmas Carnival is cancelled for another Year.

"With only three confirmed entries, with one only being a Torbay entry From Move Assured, other two were from Ipplepen and Sidvale. plus we are 7k short on sponsorship to put the event on.

"With only five weeks to go it's a heart breaking announcement.

"The grotto will open as normal."
