Man dies in fatal pedestrian collision in Torbay hospital car park
An 82-year-old man succumbed to his injuries after being hit by a car
A man has died after being hit by a car in the middle of Torbay Hospital car park earlier this month.
Devon and Cornwall Police said they were alerted to an incident taking place in the car park of the hospital - which is the busiest emergency centre in the town.
When officers arrived at the scene shortly after 2:15pm on May 14th, they found that a man had been struck by a Hyundai i20, being driven by a 72-year-old woman.
The man, aged 82, was taken to hospital to be treated but died one week later - last Tuesday (May 20th) due to his injuries.
The woman's status is currently unknown, as Devon and Cornwall Police launch an investigation into the incident.
The force are now appealing to the public to come forward with any information that could help officers in their enquiries.
In particular, anyone who may have witnessed the collision take place itself, as well as any dashcam footage that may have been captured is being particularly welcomed.
Anyone who may have any information that may be able to help officers in their investigations is being asked to call 101 and quote incident reference number 50250128125.
