Campaigners - trying to save Teignmouth hospital - will today stage a demo ahead of a meeting which could call on the government to intervene.

Last month Devon County Council voted against referring the closure to the health secretary.

Campaigners will today instead urge Teignbridge Council to fight plans to replace the hospital with a smaller GP-led health centre.

They are calling on councillors to vote to ask the Government to look again at the plans - claiming there's no need to close the hospital to improve GP access
