'The fight will continue' say opponents of Wolborough development

The parish council claimed the plans did not adequately consider climate change and environmental impacts - and so the Government was wrong to allow it.

The High Court has now rejected that argument and ruled it will not allow a judicial review based on those grounds - while ordering the parish council to pay £10,000 in costs to the secretary of state who it challenged.

Greatest Hits Radio understands that money to pay the Government will be largely funded through local 'pledges' - or people who've agreed to financially support the campaign - and any further legal challenge will likely be paid for through crowdfunding.

Teignbridge District Council has welcomed the High Court decision, saying they hope it brings to an end a long-running legal dispute which dates back to 2014.

Alongside the homes - which include 300 affordable ones - the plans will see a new primary school, employment site, shopping and play area.
