A man's been arrested after what police are calling 'suspicious items and unknown substances' were found at an address in Plymouth.

A man in his 30s is in police custody after officers searched an address in Forest Avenue at 8.30 this morning (Friday 10th September) - it's not thought to be terror related.

A bomb disposal team and fire officers with hazmat expertise are on the scene, but police say there's no risk to the public, and it's not been necessary to evacuate other homes nearby.

A cordon is in place while further investigations take place.
