The former head of roads for devon has written a song calling for potholes to be fixed.

Now district Conservative councillor Stuart Hughes, who was a former county councillor, said: "Fillin’ Potholes pays homage to highway crews worldwide while amplifying a serious concern: the chronic underfunding of local councils responsible for maintaining public roads. With its toe-tapping beat and cheeky undertones, the single strikes a chord far beyond Sidmouth’s borders."

The East Devon District Councillor and Radio Presenter added: "This track is about more than potholes—it’s about pride, persistence, and the need for proper funding.

"Councils are patching Britain’s roads on shoestring budgets, and we hope this song helps drive the message home with reggae rhythm and a little rebel spirit.”

Labour has pledged to fund councils to repair up to a million potholes a year in England.
