Man suffers serious life-changing leg injuries in North Devon crash

Police are appealing for witnesses following a serious crash in North Devon.

It happened at around 6.45am yesterday morning (Thursday 3 November) on the A361 near Mullacott Cross, Ilfracombe.

The collision involved two vehicles: a blue Renault Grand Scenic and a white Volvo HGV.

As a result of the crash, the driver of the Renault - who is a local man in his 40’s - suffered serious life-changing leg injuries and was air-lifted to Derriford Hospital where he remains.

The road was closed for a considerable amount of time as emergency services and investigators from the Road Collisions Unit attended; they would like to thank the public for their patience while they investigated the scene.

Police are appealing for any witnesses who were in the area at the time and would like to speak with anyone who may have dashcam footage that could assist with the investigation.
