Serious attack in Plymouth sparks police appeal for witnesses

A search is underway for an offender following a serious assault in Plymouth.

Devon and Cornwall Police were called to the incident in Laira, yesterday (Friday 12th March)

As a result, Pike Road was temporarily closed.

Officers remain on the scene, speaking to witnesses.

Anyone who thinks they may have seen something suspicious or witnessed the incident and have not been spoken to by the police are being asked to call them on 101.

"Police responded to a report of a serious assault in Laira.

"As a result, Pike Road was temporarily closed.

"Police remain on the scene speaking to witnesses and are actively searching for the offender.

"If anyone witnessed the incident, please call 101 quoting log 619 of 12th March.

"We are grateful for the patience of those who have had their journey home disrupted."
