Section of coast path CLOSED at Dawlish
Fallen debris from the cliffs has blocked part of Lee Mount
A section of coastal path at Dawlish has been closed to the public, after debris fallen from the cliffs has blocked the thoroughfare.
Teignbridge District Council's shut part of the path at Lee Mount - between the steps for Early's Wall and the larger viewing shelter.
The section has been closed off before, due to soil and vegetation falling down, but this time the blockage includes 'significant sized rocks'.
There are concerns about overhanging sections which could also potentially fall.
A barrier and warning signs have been put out, with the public asked to stay away.
The Council say they'll be checking the area regularly for any further movement, and to make a decision on whether the path needs to be closed permanently.
Access from Marine Parade, Boat Cove, Early’s Wall and Coryton Cove to the cliff top park at Lee Mount is still available by using the pedestrian footbridge over the railway and the sections of path that remain open.
