It has been announced that the Red Arrows performance at the English Riviera Airshow in Devon has had to be cancelled due to poor weather conditions.

The stunt team were due to open day two of the show in Torbay today (Sunday 5th June).

Organisers say the weather has deteriorated and the current visibility and low cloud line means they are closely reviewing the likelihood of the day's flying schedule going ahead as planned.

We're told the team are constantly reviewing the forecast and working on the ground at various airports to make a decision as to whether or not display teams are safe and able to fly.

Posting on Twitter, bosses said: "Due to current weather conditions, we are sorry to say that The RAF Red Arrows have regrettably had to cancel their appearance at today's English Riviera Airshow since it is neither safe nor possible for them to fly in the current conditions.

"We are continuing to very closely review the weather forecast and we are hopeful for an appearance from the RAF Chinook at 1pm.

"We will of course keep you as up to date as possible with regards to the flight displays scheduled for later this afternoon.

"Thank you again for your patience."
