Police issue update after human bones found on Devon beach
Police say forensic testing is being carried out to identify the age of the bones found at Saunton Sands beach
Police say forensic testing is being carried out to determine the age of human bones found on a beach in Devon over the weekend.
Officers were called at 2.50pm on Saturday 11 October following the discovery of human bones at Saunton Sands beach.
A scene guard was put in place while the items were recovered but has now been lifted.
Devon and Cornwall Police say enquiries are ongoing to identify the age of the bones through forensic testing.
This is being overseen by the forensic services and the local CID Department, who police say will oversee enquiries until the age is known.
