Man sustains "serious injuries" after being attacked by group in Exmouth

It is believed that he was hit with a glass bottle

Police in Exmouth are investigating an assault that took place in the town centre over the weekend.

Emergency services were called following reports of a male having sustained serious injuries following an altercation between The Strand and St Andrews Road in Exmouth, at around 11.30pm on Saturday (4 June).

It was reported that one person, a local man in his 50s, was attacked by a group of men and subsequently sustained a head injury believed to have been caused by a glass bottle.

He was taken to the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital for treatment and was later released.

A police cordon was put in place near the area of the assault, this has since been lifted.

At this time, no arrests have been made in connection to this matter.

Police would like to hear from anyone who was in the area late on Saturday 4 June and who may information that could assist with the investigation.
