Elderly woman sustains serious injuries in Staddiscombe crash

Police are appealing for witnesses following a two-vehicle crash in Staddiscombe.

It happened on Staddiscombe Road at around 11.15am on Monday (2 January).

The collision involved a red KIA Rio and a black Land Rover. The driver of the KIA, an 85-year-old local woman, was extracted from the vehicle.

She sustained serious injuries as a result of the collision and was conveyed to Derriford Hospital. Next of kin were informed.

The driver of the Land Rover sustained minor injuries.

South West Ambulance Service, Cornwall Fire Rescue and Devon and Cornwall Police attended the incident.

Officers from the Serious Collisions Investigation Team are appealing for any witnesses not spoken to at the location, particularly those with Dashcam of the collision, to come forward quoting log 226 02/01/23.
