Police investigating after lorry load's worth of sheep stolen in North Devon

Detectives say it would have taken a large lorry or several trailer trips for the amount stolen

Devon and Cornwall Police are investigating after the theft of a large number of store lambs from the North Devon area.

The lambs are Suffolk cross and Texal cross and a mix of male and female and were stolen between 15th September 1000hrs to 16th September 1000hrs .

Police said offenders would have needed a large lorry or several trailer trips for the amount stolen.

A spokesperson for Devon and Cornwall Police said: "Anyone with any information please contact Devon and Cornwall Police on 101 quoting reference number 50250242197

"If you are a livestock owner, please be aware of any suspicious activity on your farm/land, utilising CCTV, lighting, locked gates and additional checks on your stock.

"Please report any suspicious incidents to Police on 999."
