Police appeal after serious crash in Torquay
A 45-year-old local man sustained life-changing injuries.
Police investigating a serious road traffic collision in Torquay at the weekend are appealing for any witnesses to come forward.
Officers were called to reports of a collision involving a red Vauxhall Astra and a building on Teignmouth Road, Torquay at around 9.55pm on Sunday 16 March.
Police, Southwestern Ambulance Trust, Devon & Somerset Fire & Rescue and Devon Air Ambulance all attended the scene.
A 45-year-old local man sustained life-changing injuries, and was taken to Derriford Hospital, Plymouth.
The road was closed whilst a forensic examination took place. Officers from the Roads Policing Team wish to thank the public for their patience.
A 32-year-old man from Torquay was arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving. He remains in custody at this time.
A second person, who is thought to have left the scene of the collision, is being sought in relation to this incident.
