Plymouth Argyle are partnering up with local women's charity Trevi ahead of their Devon Derby against Exeter this evening (9th October).

The match will be in dedication to the charity; reinforcing the message that intimidation and sexist abuse towards women in football is not acceptable.

Trevi is "a nationally award-winning women’s and children’s charity based in South West England providing safe and nurturing spaces for women in recovery to heal, grow and thrive."

Since 1993 they've helped transform the lives of thousands of women and their children.

They run three centres in Plymouth:

  1. Jasmine Mother’s Recovery (formerly known as Trevi House)- a residential rehabilitation centre exclusively for mothers and their children in Plymouth.
  2. A Sunflower Women’s Centre offering wrap-around therapeutic support in the community
  3. Daffodil Family Centre, a residential family centre

Trevi is the lead partner for the Southwest Women’s Spark Project which aims to prevent women with multiple disadvantages and being affected by violence and abuse.

Plymouth Argyle Women sit second bottom of the Southern Premier Division- the third step of English football- with only 1 win in 6- already five points away from safety.

Meanwhile Exeter City find themselves 5 places above, in 6th, with 3 wins in 7.
