Plymouth Argyle FC says it will honour former Argyle defender Johnny Newman, who died last week, at Saturday’s home game against Bradford City.

The Club has acknowledged it didn't do enough at the weekend.

In a statement on its website, it says: "We understand fans’ frustrations at us not acknowledging Johnny’s legacy at last weekend’s match and despite recognising him across our online channels, we realise this was not enough.

"This was an oversight from the club due to a number of factors, but this is not an excuse and we should have done better.

"We will now rectify that this weekend, with a minute’s applause ahead of kick-off against the Bantams, and have invited Johnny’s family to join us for Saturday’s game."
