A pedestrian suffers serious injuries after being hit by a car in South Devon

Police are appealing for witnesses and anyone with dashcam footage of the incident in Teignmouth to contact them

A pedestrian was taken to hospital after being hit by a car in Teignmouth on Saturday April 4.

The incident happened just before 1pm on Dawlish Street forcing the road to be closed.

Police have appealed for witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage to contact them.

"At approximately 1247hrs on Saturday 3rd April 2021 Police attended a report of a RTC involving a car and pedestrian on Dawlish Street, Teignmouth, Devon.

"The female pedestrian was taken to hospital with serious injuries. Next of kin have been informed. The road was closed whilst scene examination was conducted.

"Officers from the Roads Policing Team attended are appealing for witnesses who may have seen the collision, either vehicle prior to the collision or have dash camera footage to contact police, quoting the log number 448 of 3rd April 2021."
