One person taken to hospital following crash in Torquay

Fire crews from Torquay were called to a car that went up in a blaze following a crash.

It happened near Bridge Retail Park on Hele Road yesterday evening (6 January) and involved two vehicles.

Those involved were freed and cleared from the vehicles, but one casualty was taken to hospital.

Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue released this statement following the incident:

"One fire appliance from Torquay was mobilised to a report of a car on fire following a road traffic collision.

"On arrival at the scene fire crews reported a road traffic collision involving 2 vehicles, all persons were free and clear of the vehicles.

"The vehicles were made safe by fire crews and one casualty was taken to hospital by ambulance personnel."
